Dear Great Minds,

Thank you so much for participating in this Center for Intentional Inclusive Community survey. This survey was initially created for employed individuals or people actively working in churches or organizations. You are a unique group in that you are all retired; however, you provide an excellent opportunity for me to increase my understanding. I am grateful for this opportunity to engage and learn from retirees about how they can relate to Intentional Inclusive Community work.

This survey is designed to assess where you are now. No doubt, as you answer the survey questions, they will elicit complicated feelings about your past work in this area, as well as feelings about what you are no longer able to do. I invite you to be honest. Please make a note of these feelings and bring these to our discussion. Answer the questions according to your current context. Do not worry about the results at this point. During our follow-up meeting, I will explain the various elements of the survey and debrief the results with you, and we will explore future actions together. You will also have an opportunity to share your ideas and insights about how to improve the survey.

This is not a survey for measuring your accomplishments. You will not be judged on the basis of your answers. The specifics of your data is confidential and secured on our website. As a group, the raw data that you provide will have statistical value for me as a researcher. Our primary concern is how we can be more intentional about moving toward an inclusive community. The survey is designed to give you insights into where you are now and open windows to new possibilities as we set our sights on the kind of world we want for our children and grandchildren.

Thank you again for agreeing to take this survey. I look forward to meeting with you.
